Taylor and Boody operates a small but complete sawmill and dry kiln to supply native lumber needs. A mechanical action organ is largely a machine made of wood. Careful preparation of all materials is an essential part of quality control. The sawmill operation regularly produces quartersawn white oak, quartersawn yellow poplar, eastern white pine, black walnut, and black cherry cut 1" to 4" thick. The sawmill and kiln are housed in a new building which has climate-controlled storage for kiln-dried lumber stock and finished organ parts.
